Our Food
Healthy, tasty, nutritious meals
Meals are important at Grandma’s Place, and like any home, Grandma’s kitchen is the heart of our service. Grandma’s Place kitchen prepares healthy, home cooked meals for your child every day. Say good-bye to lunch boxes and hello to fuss free mornings!
We are proud of our full commercial kitchen and in-house chefs. Our chefs prepare home-style meals that meet the Nutrition Australia Guidelines and take into account any food allergies or intolerances.
We pride ourselves on being one of the few services in Queensland that excludes nasty additives and preservatives, which are known to impact on children’s health and behaviour. All the ingredients and pre-packaged foods used in our kitchen must pass a rigorous process of checking for these additives or preservatives. We have a generous kitchen budget so that we can provide a premium menu because we are passionate about providing the best quality meals for our children. Food is critical to each child’s learning and development and Grandma’s Place welcomes chefs, cooks and tuckshop conveners from other services and schools to come and learn about cooking high quality meals for children.
Grandma’s Place Kitchen – Evening Meals
A meal service just for our families
We provide a take home meal service once a month on a Wednesday exclusively for our families. We certainly hope you will enjoy the convenience of great meals to share with your family at home. Our chefs prepare a different roast dinner option each month which families can order the day prior - too easy! A great option for working families; nothing quite like a mid week roast pork dinner and a delicious home made apple pie as a wonderful treat.
To take advantage of this service, you must have at least one child attending Grandma's Place in either the Kindergarten, childcare or out of school hours program.
